Pre-Kindergarten and Childcare

Through state legislation and dedicated local efforts, Pre-K options improve every year. The Tennessee Pre-K Quality Act became effective in the 2016-17 school year and makes Pre-K accessible to all Tennessee four-year-olds, with an emphasis on at-risk students and high-priority communities.

It also makes programs more rigorous and better prepares students to enter elementary school. As Greater Memphis youth continue to gain access to high-quality early childhood education, their chances of success through college and the workforce increase.

Visit Pre-K resources through Memphis-Shelby County Schools.
