My accomplishment that were the most impactful was when I was able to gain an account with University of Memphis. Some people will look at us as a small minority business and think we could never be on their level, but I came in and gained a great working relationship with the University and several other companies in the Memphis area. To have this account for 3 years now is a great feeling and huge accomplishment for me.
My father. He put his blood, sweat and tears into building this company and its reputation. I make it my duty to keep it going. When I hear guest come through our door or call on the phone and say ” I took your tour last year and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to come back to Memphis”. That pushes me to continue doing what I love.
To me, being a Young Professional means to me. Breaking down barriers, embracing change and exploring new ideas. People say you are too young to own a transportation business, what do you know about transportation??? I tell those people being young is a “State of Mind”. You have to think that way in order to stay on top of the “What’s Now”.
I love the history behind this GEM we call Memphis, we have so much history here that it will take more than a couple of days to visit and see. I have several favorite places, but to name a few I like Babalu , Side Street and Locals. They all have delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff.
What advice do I have for other Young professionals? Don’t hang with weak minded people . You will need someone in your corner to push you. There is so many opportunities here in Memphis, don’t be afraid to go for them. Don’t be that ” I wish I would’ve” person.
I admire my parents, ever since I can remember I’ve looked up to my mom and dad. Whether it was guidance, support, advice or just a big hug. They have taught me some important lessons in life. They are my biggest supporters.
Still thriving in the Sightseeing Tours business.
My favorite thing about being a Young Professional in Memphis, is meeting other Young Professionals in Memphis and exploring ideas together. Continuing to make Memphis that “Go to City”.
