Ernest Strickland, Chamber VP of Workforce Development, expressed that in initial planning for what the Chamber can do to help prepare Memphis for the 21st century jobs and new collar jobs, his team understood that they needed to first convene people and get everyone on the same page.
The first day of UpSkill 901 is the Workforce Summit in which stakeholders will join for a day long conference of workshops with experts, learning from each other and strategizing how they can best align systems. Day two of UpSkill 901 includes the Free Career Fair featuring over 60 Memphis area companies and support services.
The Chamber is proud to have the support of the faith based community both the summit and career in which over 50 churches have agreed to participate and helping prepare jobseekers to be ready for the career fair.
